Default Les Paul on BBC4

Anybody catch this?
I totally melt to the sound of Mary Ford singing.
Les is pretty decent too...

I didn't, but I have been lucky enough to see Les perform and met him after the show. He is a real gentleman, and the stories he tells are the most amazing thing you will ever hear. I am hoping to see him again this year - he still does 2 gigs every Monday night in New York City.

I wonder if Gibson will ever do a LP sig model? I'm not joking neither!

Bottom line- It takes motor skills and practice to develop fast clean playing but a brain to use it wisely and rock guitarists are still recovering from the 80's.
All in all sound is in the ear of the beer holder

Thankfully I banged a DVD into the recorder in time. It was a repeat, and I'm so glad I managed to record it this time. Les is genius, a mad professor, amazing guitar player - god I'd love to visit his house... it was the sight of all those old guitar cases, and Gibson Les Pauls lying around the house plus all that cool recording equipment... amazing. I'd pay money to visit that place as a museum!

Interesting point - did anyone else notice that his guitars from the 50s were heavily modified (odd switches, trem bridges, big scratchplate between the P90s etc)... I'd love to know the specs on these.

And yes, Mary Ford makes me melt too... those harmonies are straight from heaven.

Got it recorded ready for Tuesday night - Mrs Nitefly won't be here to hog the airwaves with her Celeb BB shite, so I can settle down with Les and Mary and decent bottle of red!
