Default Marshall Vintage Modern Amps

Anyone got one - Ive seen a 100w head at a really good price - just wanted to know what kind of clean tones you can get out of them - Ive heard they were a bit 'muddy'?!

Go try one out!! ....Tell ya what though, when Guitarist mag reviewed it they never once commented on its clean channel...as if it didn't even have one. How strange is that?

Have you checked out the official Marshall vids on youtube re that amp? I've only heard good things about the VM.

Bottom line- It takes motor skills and practice to develop fast clean playing but a brain to use it wisely and rock guitarists are still recovering from the 80's.
All in all sound is in the ear of the beer holder

They are good amps !

( when they work )

They do clean Ok, but the VM 100 is on par with a JVM50 for volume. Which is a good thing because it allows you to nail the 50 Watter at a gig for some great Thin Lizzy tones.

The VM "clean" is typical Marshall clean. Warmish but always a bit gritty.

Lets be honest, Marshall don't really do clean in the true sense of the word like say a Fender or an Orange and the VM is no exception to the rule either.

Where the VM excels is like most Marshalls, fantastic drive sounds.
