Default Mixing wav. or mp3 with midi...is it possible?

I have cubase, which I use to record myself. I can record guitar and bass with it, and I use Tux Guitar or Guitar Pro to make the drums. The problem is, the drums I get from these two programs are in midi, but the guitar parts i record with cubase are in wav.

Please, can someone tell me how (if) there is a way to mix them?

Thank you very much if you reply

Marco

I know Guitar Pro can export to midi, so the easiest way would be to export the drums from GP as a midi file and import it to your Cubase project.

Piffle,

Your drums will need to be recorded as audio if the drums are external to your DAW. I use a vst, so when I export a project, it automatically gets converted to audio.

Oh, sorry.

DAW = Digital audio workstation. -- The computer you're running Cubase on.

VST = Vitual studio technology. -- Software plugins for sequencers like Cubase that can be an effect or an instrument.

Thats not strictly true.
The drums don't 'need' to be exported as audio. The midi can be exported and used with a drum VSTi in cubase. This method gives a lot more control of the drum track.
Of course, the original drums can be rendered to audio first and then used in cubase as an audio file.
The drum track could also be created inside cubase with a VSTi with no need for Guitar Pro or whatever.

Correctamundo !

Might be easier to just record the drum track until you get the hang of it all - takes some practice to be able to manipulate DAW software to achieve what you want.

So, it needs to be audio in the end then.
