Default peoples thoughts on the peavey windsor head?

relaly need a good amp for giggin punk for 2009. been using a number of amps (none mine) up untill now where i've chosen to get one.

Not the right amp for punk! You need something beafier than that... what sort of budget have you got?

Isn't is supposed to sound like an 800? I'd have thought that would be ideal. I know it's been recommended by people who play super heavy music as well.

Is it! The Windsor combo we have definitely doesn't sound anything like a JCM800!!

How similar in sound do combos tend to be?
It depends on what he means by punk but most of the great punk sounds appear to have been Marshall - MC5, Discharge, Poison Idea and so on.

not bad for the money (no cleans though), but if you have more money, you can do better, kind of thing.

yeh its great for rock, classic rock - really thick sound - but probably too 'classy' for punk ! Its difficult getting a thrashy trebly sound from it.

The Windsor is not for Punk, you need the Dagenham for that
