Having recovered from my Fender Fuzz-Wah dissapointment (not honky/quacky enough for me) I'm in the market for a wah pedal again. I want something mainly for adding "movement" to solos and to use as a peaked boost kind of thing. Basically, I want to do some Zappa stuff
![]() I've heard good things about the Budda Bud-Wah, does anybody on here own one of them? Any other recommendations for something that is honky/quacky/vocal? I know I should probably just go try a bunch out in some shops but it looks like I'm going to get my Dad to buy me it for Christmas so it'll probably be an online purchase. Also I don't use a wah at the moment so things like the travel of the treadle would be something I'd have to adjust to anyway. |

I know I always say this, but : the Boss V-Wah can do anything you want it to do. I have begun to wonder why I sold mine...

I have used the Budda Bud-Wah for the past ten years and it has never ever let me down. It also sounds incredible. To my ears it is warmer and far more subtle that many others i have tried. If you're after extreme sounds don't get it, if you're after subtle, buttery, warm and musical tones then the Bud Wah should be high up on your "must try" list.

I have a BudWah. Was broken when it arrived and has broken itself again.
Sounds good when it works though.

I have a Budda wah, and it's amazing! Only bad thing is, no LED to indicate if it's on or not.
The Boss V-wah, I don't mind saying, isn't very good. If you're too heavy with it, the heel position will start turning patches on and all this other nonsense... and it's just doesn't sound very good either - you can hear that its a digital wah, definitely. |

I never found that with the heel switch - but if your action does do that then yes it'd be infuriating. As for sounding digital - as long as you remember to leave the drive knob turned all the way down my ear could never tell it wasn't 'real' - but horses for courses I guess

My mate had the V-waa and gave up on it because of the extra switching at the heel down end - it was just too easy to change modes when not wanted.

Indeed - never had a problem with my V-Wah, and it sounds fantastic; all the wah sounds I'll ever need - and the vocal emulation was good for Threads.
