Thumbs up Chinese Democracy

My 2 pence:

Obviously, there is a ridiculous amount of hype surrounding this album, (as well as the almost painful, lazy, repetition of "hopefully it'll be out before/won't take as long as" Chinese Democracy, jokes on musicradar)

I've just been listening, and I think it's a good record, there is some mind blowing musicianship, axl's voice sounds wicked on most tracks, and I think I'm a fan of the really over produced sound now!

If this was a completely new band, maybe even if Axl had dropped the G n' R moniker, I would be raving about it in a big way.

Serious riffs, intresting song writing. I'd love to see this live too.

Boom.

Might have been left with more credibility if he had dropped the GnR name, after all Velvet Revolver has 3 ex members of GnR in as opposed to just 1, so in theory are more GnR than the current GnR.

I haven't heard the album, but am not impressed with the single, and neither are a lot of people it seems as it only entered the charts at something like 30. Most new singles by "classic" bands that haven't had a release in a long time do well, eg Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter by Iron Maiden making Xmas number 1 because there were so many Maiden fans that hadn't been able to buy a record by their fave band for so long that they all rushed out and bought it and so it couldn't fail to make no. 1

I think it's a fucking incredible album.
I don't understand why people don't like it.
