Default Lend me your ears...

If any of you could give me a hand here I'd really appreciate it.

I'm transcribing a couple of songs that I'm rehearsing with a singer tomorrow but I've run into a bit of a stumbling block. There's some stuff that I want to run past a second set of ears and a few chords I'm missing.

Here's the first (and most complete) song, Tom Waits' Innocent When You Dream

Here is Scarlett Johansen singing it (I've mostly been referring to her version when I've been checking things)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO2ajCgvV6o

And here is how I believe it to go...

Quote:
Capo, 3rd Fret
Picking the bass notes in a root/5th pattern whenever possible

VERSE:
[D] [Em]
The bats are in the belfry
[A] [D]
the dew is on the moor
[F#] [Bm]
where are the arms that held me
[G] [D]
and pledged her love before
[G] [A7][D]
and pledged her love before

CHORUS:
[D] [Em]
It's such a sad old feeling
[A] [D]
the fields are soft and green
[D] [D7] [G]
it's memories that I'm stealing
[D] [G] [D]
but you're innocent when you dream
[G] [D]
when you dream
[D] [G] [D]
but you're innocent when you dream
[G] [D]
when you dream
[G] [A7] [D]
you're innocent when you dream

VERSE:
[D] [Em]
running through the graveyard
[A] [D]
we laughted my friends and I
[F#] [Bm]
we swore we'd be together
[G] [D]
until the day we die
[G] [A7] [D]
until the day we die

(Repeat CHORUS)

VERSE:
[D] [Em]
I made a golden promise
[A] [D]
that we would never part
[F#] [Bm]
I gave my love a locket
[G] [D]
and then I broke her heart
[G] [A7] [D]
and then I broke her heart

(Repeat CHORUS)
I'm not sure about the Asus2 in the chorus and the end of the chorus (the timing's funny on the repeated part and I feel I may have missed a chord).

Edit: This was on the line "It's memories that I'm stealing". I think with the bass it actually goes F/D-Eb/D-G.

Here is the second song, Used to Be by Beach House

http://www.vimeo.com/2015036?pg=embed&sec=2015036

The guitar is infuratingly quiet in that recording (which is the only one I can find). From what I can gather the guitarist plays a picking pattern that tends to use notes that she's singing. The "chords" I've notated are sometimes applicable and sometimes only really refer to he correct bass note.

Quote:
Beach House - Used to Be

VERSE A
[Asus4] [Asus4]
You are coming home, are you still alone
[G/Asus4] [D]
Are you not the same as you used to be?
[Asus4] [Asus4]
As the sun grows hot and you serve your time
[G/Asus4] [D]
Does each day not feel like another life?

VERSE B
[Em] [Em]
Now you know, is it just for show
[Bm] [F#m]
Just a foolish game that you hide behind
[Em] [G/Em]?
Don't forget the nights when it all felt right
[Bm] [Em]
Are you not the same as you used to be?

CHORUS A
[D]
Used to be...

VERSE A
[Asus4]
In the endless night, did you hear the fright
[G/Asus4] [D]
Of an age that was and could never be?
[Asus4] [Asus4]
We hold it close when we feel the most
[G/Asus4] [D]
Like a love that we could not leave behind

VERSE B
[Em] [Em]
Turn the wheel to each way we feel
[Bm] [F#m]
'Til I'm lost and I can't find you there
[Em] [G/Em]?
Don't forget the nights when it all felt right
[Bm] [Em]
Are you not the same as you used to be?

CHORUS A
[D]
Used to be...

VERSE C

Even if I tried so hard

Would we still be coming to an end?

Even if we spoke the same the words

Would we still be turned as friends?

VERSE C

Even if it's simple from the start

We will give the pieces of our hearts

And when there is nothing left to pretend

We will know it's coming to an end

VERSE C

Even if I tried so hard

We will give the pieces of our hearts

Always good to see you again

Even though it's coming to an end

CHORUS C
[Em]
We could wait until the summer
[D]
See what happens to the autumn
[A]
We can stay inside all summer
[G]
See what happens to the autumn
The thing that I've labelled "Verse C" seems to use the same chords each time but the guitar is so quiet by then that I'm having trouble finding them. I'm quite wary of cranking my speakers up because I don't want to piss off my neighbours.

I'll keep at both of them in case nobody can help me but I thought I'd run it past you guys because I'm quite keen to get this right first time. I've not done anything with this singer before and I don't want her to think I'm crap

Bonus material for reading this far, my version of Gordon Giltrap's Heartsong (complete with taking the plectrum out of my mouth the wrong way around and smacking my finger against the string):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTsHRBU0vAg

Edit: I tried to use a monospaced font to make the chords line up with the words but it didn't work.

Edit again: Asus2->Asus4 in the second song. It's also a got a minor seventh in it too. I dont know what that would be called.
