There is. Some companies already exist that do that. I'll find some links later when I'm at work, but I've just started making cables and did some research to see if there were companies doing it.
I'm not planning to make any or much money doing it. I'll make a few for local musicians and see where it goes. I think one of the issues is that it's time consuming and by the time you've charged for your effort and the postage, it's hard to be competitive. Plus, there's quite a big outlay in terms of materials if you want to offer choice to customers - or you have to decide what cable and plugs you're going to use and hope that people like it. |

Sporky used to make high-end cables but had to stop because the marketplace prices were so low it wasn't worth his while.
Best speak to him. K |

I make all my own studio and stage stuff anyway. But I have seen some suppliers who can sell stagebox's and multicore teflon screened looms cheaper then I can make them ( and thats compared to buying a 100 metre drum of cable and connectors in the 100's ![]() It's back to Chinese production again, some of the high quality cables that they produce sell for a few quid. It's not even worth using my electric to plug the soldering iron in these days. |

I ordered cables from here: Leads Factory. They not bad, but I've had trouble with one of the leads which seems to have a dodgy jack.
Not sure if they're still in business because they have an old message informing of them being closed for holidays, which dates back to June.

I made up cables for cost of parts & postage and £2 per cable. Even then people whined about the cost - and they were far cheaper and better than most shop cables.

I buy my guitar cables from a shop.
I get a bloke on basschat to make my speaker cables. (2meter speakon to speakon, Klotz 4mm cable - £17.00) I will be making my own patch cables to fit my board so it is all neat.
