Default how to set up my gigging rig.

Hi guys im about to start practicing with a new band and i want a new amp for the setup. I have an ibanez sa160qm guitar and a usa strat. The main influences on this band will be a U2/Angels and airwaves atmospheric type deal to it. I have been on months now trying to get an amp sorted but aint found one i like. I have bout 500 pound to blow and would prefer a combo so i can use it for practice and recording also. I tried out a peavey valveking on a strat as people rave about it but i could not see the attraction (maybe i need more time to play with it), my mate who will be in this band just got a spidervalve 212 and although i quite like it i am put off for some reason. The soundcity 40c amp was another i considered but im just not sure. What say ye????

I'd say Vox AD60VT with a VC-12 floor controller. Should do everything you want (and Vox can't be beat for high-gain stuff).

i need a full day to try out loads of amps, realistically i shoiuld be using my strat all the time but sometimes its lack of balls annoys me. What can ya do. I think this is why the spidervalve is an option for me because i can do a lot with it.
