Default New Moon 18w monster

I am insanely jealous of Mark winning New Moon Amps' 18 watt head and cab at GASfest.

All I've been able to think about since has been how it would solve my "not cutting through" problems while simultaneously forcing me to play better. I want that amp.

Anyone want to buy a JCM800 combo?

If your 800 isn't cutting through, get it looked at!

But I agree - that little thing sounded amazing

It's a cracking little amp. I'd have been extremely happy to take that home on the night. Peter is a clever little so-and-so and his other designs are equally impressive.

I love the way everybody looked at each other when you played the Highway To Hell riff through it.

Have you considered changing the speakers in your JCM Jonny? That could make a difference

Too right and I only paused mid-way for a Vic Reeves-style leg rub because I couldn't believe me fa'in' luck at having first choice.

Green, number 15?

That's meeeee, pet!

What a catch! I had a little fiddle with it on Sunday afternoon for "10 minutes" which quickly became 2 hours as I tried all my electrics out through it. Although only at quiet 'in the house' levels

I really am grateful to NMA (and Lewy) for donating it and unlike other GASfest prizes that have disappeared from forum view, I intend to wear the fucking thing out playing it live. When Pete told me afterwards it was a Marshall clone of sorts, I was buzzing (my current amp is a JCM900 combo). Even more so when Jonny playing through it.

We have a rehearsal booked next Tuesday, when it'll be coming with me and getting used, through both the cab it came with and any 4x12s that are in the room. Man - I can't wait!

This is the first head I've had and it's sooo cute but a bit naughty too. I've renamed it Li'l Devil.

Oh, the JCM800 cuts through alright. It's just loud. And not loud in a "Hey, that's rock and roll!" kinda way. Loud in an "Oh my god I am going to die" way.

That means I don't really get the power section working and I'm not getting the tone I want. Then I play with too much preamp gain to compensate.

It's still the best sound I've ever had, actually, so I might keep it. But at IGF, Stuart (FOH guy) had to come up to the stage to ask me to turn down because the backline was drowning out the PA and he couldn't get my vocals up loud enough. It was on 3.
