Default about to purchase

hi guys, i have been doing some digging and i am going to newcastle today to try out a yamaha apx 700, takamine tw145 and possibly a simon and patrick guitar. Any thoughts on these guitars? the idea was for me to have one for playing live in an open mic type setup. If needed i would record it but im not overly fussed (at this moment in time) about a stellar unplugged tone. The apx has some good reviews, what are peoples thoughts?

Are you looking for a guitar that you will need to plug in to get heard at an open mic event? Or were you hoping to find one loud enough that you'll be able to play unplugged?

check out tanglewoods.

I tried out the APX 700 then tried some tanglewoods and were far far more impressed.

They're great value for money.

hi guys just got bk i went with the yamaha apx 700. I tried a couple of tanglwewoods im left handed so its not easy to get the guitars like. the tanglewood i tried was bout 440 n sounded great unplugged but the yamaha when plugged in was far superior. I de ided on the yamaha because i felt live it will b a better option. i can easily get a general acoustic at a later stage to record with. the gutar was 360 new but i managed to barter between two shops n eventually got the guitar with a hard case thrown in, a strap, three plectrums and a spare battery for 350.

Peacock - I agree abou the Yammys - not the best acoustically but plugged in great
I have the CPX900 and it is super sounding guitar plugged in - you get a soundhole cover as well to reduce feedback
