I've been fortunate enough to experience the best of both worlds, and they're both great for different reasons, Got a 65 JMI Vox AC30 which is great, some consider the Holy grail of tone, and i've got a Line 6 Flextone 2 x 12 XL i think the gear line 6 is coming out with is fantastic, had hours of fun from my modelling amp and when i first got it, have to say it was a revelation to me, there's that much brilliant gear these days its unbelievable the variety of gear available we take for granted, at affordable price relative to most peoples pocket today! 25 years ago you couldn't get nowhere near, what you can now, don't knock it! Some people think nothing of paying a substantial amount of money golf club/Gym subscription, so whats £ 300 for the stomp box modeller, i'll be getting one and really looking forward to it.

My DL4's 2nd switch is fucked, any ideas how to fix?

Look on the line 6 forum...I found a fix on there. It's a fairly common problem apparently but an easy fix. It was just a question of taking the pcb out and adjusting the innards of the metal footswitch...there's only a tiny microswitch on the pcb itself. The hardest job was getting the control knobs off the pot spindles....I used a couple of thin screwdrivers to lever them off.

I read that it isn't the metal switches, but rather the switches on the PCB. I've confirmed this by opening it up, and turning the unit on and then pressing the internal switch - not the metal one - and it doesn't always work.

You can get replacements, but I'm nay good at soldering. Might give it a go though.. fuck it...

Ah, furry muff...mine was a problem with the metal switch push not making proper contact with the microswitch. Go easy with the soldering iron and you'll be fine...doesn't look like a difficult job to change the switch.

Has anyone tried one? Are the models any good?
Cheers
So I bit the bulllet and bought one. Paid for it by selling off a some pieces of kit I don't use. I've never got on with multi-effects and have always prefered stomp boxes into my amp.

It's like I've had a massive gassing spree and plundered the fx stocks of my local guitar shop. With so much choice and flexibility it's really given a creative boost to my songwriting. I really like it!
