Default The Exercises in Eric Roche's Acoustic Guitar Bible...

Are really hard! I'm beginning to consider just reading through the book without tackling the exercises and coming back to them later. I've been playing the guitar for a while but chord changes like the ones in here and stretches to play chords between the 2nd and 7th frets (for the basic blues rhythm) I was not expecting, at least I wasn't expecting them to be among the first exercises in the book.

I guess I'll probably crack this stuff eventually it just seems at the moment like each exercise is going to require some intense woodshedding.

Has anybody else worked through this book?

Eric's Acoustic Guitar Bible is superb. I had the privelige of knowing Eric. Sometimes it's easy to consider a book like that in amongst all the other tutor books and manuals but what Eric did was at the very top of his chosen instruments capability. His book reflects how to get to the top and that's bound to have some challenges in it!

I seem to remember there being some dodgy transcriptions of chords early on in that book. Some of the "warm-up" exercises are enough to put you out of action for a while. Be careful with them - if it looks like a mistake has been made transcribing the exercise, it's possible it has been.

It's a great book, other than that.....

I've found a couple points like that, the odd "missed" chord change and the tab being "a string out".

The information in the books is truly fantastic, I knew just from reading the first chapter or so that I was going to learn a lot from it knowledge-wise.
