Default carbon fibre Firebird-alike

Following on from my thread about carbon fibre guitars, the guys are thinking about making me one have asked me to cut a template out of hard foam stuff so they can make a mould. Obviously, I'll attempt it on cardboard first, but is there anywhere on t'internet that'll give me a template (to scale) to print out? And, I suppose, diagrams of where the routings are etc

Also, any other sites that might help with dimensions, fretboard measurements, etc. I don't know if this is all going to be possible, especially with my obviously very limited knowledge, but it might be fun to try!

As I type this, it's filling me with dread, but they're going to bring me some hardened foam to carve later on today!! I wish I hadn't mentioned it at all now

Cheers for ANY assistance you cna give me.

I don't really won't to impose on him, but if he sees this and feels the need to help me that's OK

And, Simon, your PMs are full, I have a message for you!

yup, neckthrough body with wings glued to the side. Guess yours would be easier as a one piece though?

I'd say so, yes, although TBH, we haven't got round to talking about a neck yet, so that's something else to think about! How would I get that to work for a Firebird alike. It doesn't have to be the same though, as I'd probably have the headstock the right way up too, or would that be wrong?!!

nah, i like firebirds with the downwards pointing h/s! I think ibby used to do their copies that way iirc? Were you thinking of doing a wooden bolt-on/set neck then into the carbon fibre body?

No, I was hoping to do it all carbon fibre, but hadn't thought beyond that. I think it may need to be 2 pieces though - I'll see the guys later, so I can discuss it with them.
