Kaisers hit out at 'boring' indie

When any one else reads this article to the words pot, kettle, black come to mind?

The best bit of it is:

"Indie bands are big, so a lot of record companies are pushing indie bands and going 'we've got one and they dress in vests'," Wilson said. "That indie by numbers is boring."

Songwriter and drummer Nick Hodgson added: "It's very, very boring."

Thats a great contribution there Nick, cleared things right up.

Yup, the Kaiser Chiefs are indeed very, very boring. Good of them to come clean.

I'd say they have their own thing going on, and can see what they're getting at.

I dunno...there are a lot worse Indie bands about.

As a genre it hasnt really moved on since the 90's though. I suppose thats part of the appeal.

The Ting Tings are good though. Although Im not sure why people class them as 'Indie'. Nice looking singer too. A bit goofy but still fit

Jangly strummy music with drawling vocals and chords that rarely deviate from your basic Major or Minor. Often sung in a regional accent. Generally the songs do not contan a whole lot of changes. The music has a certain 'swagger' and attitude to it that you dont get from other genres.

An excellent Indie band is The Charlatans. Stone Roses where good. And ofcourse Oasis...still prefer their old stuff though.

Ah, but for me none of those sounds indie because to me the term means The Smiths and The Wedding Present.
