I picked the guitar up in the first place because of David Gilmour
I'm buying one without doubt - I'm just suprised its taken Fender so long to make it because I suspect this one is going to sell big time...

Apparently Gilmour has been VERY picky about the pick-ups, that's why it's taken a while.

I'd have one in a second. especially the relic version.

I like black on black Strats but I would prefer a rosewood 'board and it is crying out for a proper big headstock. Also the David Gilmour connection means absolutely nothing to me, he has been irrelevant to my musical upbringing.

Now a Syd Barrett Esquire would be something, please Fender!

The fact it has taken so long hopefully means they have been making sure everything is good, and Gilmour is happy with it so you know it's going to be a cracking Strat! Relic.... mmmm!

I wonder how much they're going to screw out of the Gilmour fans for this one?

Bottom line- It takes motor skills and practice to develop fast clean playing but a brain to use it wisely and rock guitarists are still recovering from the 80's.

So there going to be one off signature pickups then? They'd better be cos if there stock in any way it kinda shows up the whole signature guitar thing for the bollocks it is.

I have a Kotzen Tele, but it has a switching arrangement like no other guitar Fender make and its reasonably priced given its features. But buying a 57 strat reissue in black and changing the scratchplate might be a simpler option IMHO. Imean the shortened arm maybe, but it just seems like bollocks to me and Gilmour is one of my heroes.
