Default Broken marshall amp!

Just remembered also here, i am looking to sell my marshall mg250dfx amp and it is in perfect condition apart from the volume pot on the distortion channel which crackles and seems to cut out when turning up at times. I tried pullin the pot off and using a contact spray type thing but it has not worked. Any ideas? Also i dont know if this is just something totally random but when i have it plugged in in my room i can hear like a radio or tele channel signal coming through and can hear people talking, it freaks me out! Any ideas?

Sounds like the pot is knackered. If you can solder, it's an easy enough job to replace it. Pots are pretty cheap.

On the radio signal problem, your guitar lead is probably acting as an aerial. I used to get that... I live at the top of a big hill and the signal round here is really strong ( We have to use an attenuator on our tv to get the signal strength down.) It was specially worse when I was using a chain of old analogue effects pedals....my Tonebender fuzz pedal was the main culprit. A better quality (eg better screened) guitar lead might help.
