Default need gear for mega new band haha

Okek Dokey, here is the crack. I have been searching for an amp for ages and nothing is jumping out at me. I wil be playing music in the Angels and Airwaves/ punk pop mode with mostly original tracks. I need a good sounding amp in the 300 to 600 range but obviously I need a decent delay and whatnot on the go. I have looked at Line 6 spidervalves for a while now and i am tempted i have been impressed with the sound quality and i like the idea that you can have exact tempo settings for delay which will help when gigging if using a click track. What other options are there for the sound I am after???? Most delay pedals dont have an exact setting which is frustrating please help meeeeeee.

I think you'll struggle to find an amp with more than a pretty basic built-in delay at that sorta price range; I'd be looking at spending about 80% of budget on the amp and save a little bit for a decent delay pedal or multi-FX. Since you've looked at Line 6 anyway one of their delay pedals should do you nicely; the Echo Park looks like a good bet, or a secondhand DL4.

As far as the amp goes, are you particularly bothered about it being valve or not? I'm guessing if you've been looking at Spiders it's not the number one priority, and a solid-state will certainly weigh less and give more bang-for-buck than an equivalent tube amp. For solid-state, I can recommend from experience the Fender Deluxe 90 DSP (WAY under-budget, and has a smattering of onboard effects also; sadly you can't use the reverb at the same time as any other effect though ). There's a 100W version that the name of escapes me now too.
Um, obviously there's Marshall; one of the older Valvestates or an AVT? And less 'cool' brands like Award Session, Crate and Laney make some nice solid-staters. Hughes & Kettner's are apparently good too, although I've not tried one.

Valve - you might pick up a secondhand Orange or Vox under budget, I'm contractually obliged to mention the Peavey Classic / Delta Blues amps, Laney VC30, there's some nice Marshall and Fender stuff around too. And this looks nice, particularly if you're near Surrey and can collect:

It's 40W, which he doesn't state in the listing - plenty enough for any gig except an un-miced festival or stadium.

Speaking as a previous owner of a spidervalve (excellent amps btw) id still say to get an AVT halfstack for your core sounds and get a couple of pedals for your delay tones etc Check out the Boss DD-7 with an additional tap tempo switch, Line 6 the Echo Park, Line 6 DL4, Boss RE-20............

Word of warning on the AVT halfstack idea, on mine the clean channel developed voume drop issues (although it is about 6 years old and was gigged pretty heavily. I have also yet to send it to a tech it might be a cheap repair for all I know)

If you can accept that slight risk though they do sound pretty nice for an amp in that price range and have a decent amount of features.

Never had that problem with mine, i had the AVT150H and 412A cab but only really had it for a year-ish, really good amp though for core gigging sounds that dont need to be in the blues-ultra-dynamic range imo

yeah i have tried the AVT combos, i mean the valve amps are preferable for me however price is an issue. I looked at the valveking but was not impressed with the clean channel on it. The main attraction with the spidervalve is just all the features i could utilise, what it basically comes down to is i want an amp that i can gig small to medium gigs with and use to record that will get a good angels type sound. I liked the Vox ac30 however the lack of distortion annoys me (I know i should just invest in a good distortion pedal however it still grates) haha.

Try an AC15 combo then if you liked the 30 (15watts should be just enough for gigging) and with the difference in price grab a OD/DS pedal that works nicely with it
