Default Flying V

I'm getting more and more into Mr zakk wylde's style of playing and due to a tax rebate think its time i spend the moneyon a more rock sheddering style guitar.

Why is the White V 100 quid more and the black? they have the same spec dont they? Anyone got better ideas on a guitar or why noot to geta V? i havent got enough for a les paul sadly.

i have a V and it is all about the looks. Its not made for tone at all and can sound thin and fizzy and muddy, (great for blues though) they feel great to play, very light, great neck, great heel, you can throw it all over the place. A great stage guitar.

Yup i love my flying V, it does have a really distinct sound to it.

Could be they make less of the white flying V's? Black ones are ten a penny.

Note that one with stock Gibson pickups will sound nothing like Zakk's guitar. EMGs have massive output and a very distinct tonality (they sound like EMGs on any guitar). They are also pricey. TBH for shreddy playing a US Jackson will probably fit the bill better than an unmodded Gibbo.

a Gibbo and a set of EMG's is possibly still cheaper than a Jackson US KV2. certainly if gak is to be beleived. hell you could have the 3 pickup one and every shred pickup you can be fussed to put onto it

i have a ibanez rg2550E prestige so i dont want a jackson. i just want a rock sound. dont have to sound totally like Zakk's guitar. + i love jammin the blues so it seems the right option.
