There's tons of them... but tuition in what, chords, scales, technique, 'tune a day'... gotta be more specific.

Personally with kids I think most important thing is to get them to enjoy it, feel achievement in playing, so start by nailing 'easy' play versions of whatever their fave song is at the moment.... then build theory, and all that shit around it.

But, and this is important, always end on something they like, something that made them want to learn in first place or something they feel good playing, be it smoke, stairway, purple or even cheeko time... finish in a high.

Thats said...

This is good resource for scales

This is good for backing tracks

Are you going to teach her ?
I teach this age group. The most important thing is not to stay on one subject too long 10 -15 mins. Make it fun as well. They need to look forward to the lesson. With boys they like to make noise , so I show them a simple 5th chord thing (like smoke on the water) , let them play through my amp up fairly loud with distortion which there mum and dad will probably shout at them for .
My early lesson tend to go
Warm up fingers without a guitar.
Warm up on the guitar
10 -15 mins actual lesson
10 mins "fun"
Then a recap of what I taught them , with what they need to practice. With a small project for them to bring to the next lesson.

Boys in particular need something to "show their mates".

Girls tend to be a bit more studious. The worst thing to do is drone on about theory, you almost need to trick them into learning.

I also ask if there is any lick they would like to learn and who they like best.As they progress I will show them a technique and then show them an example of one of their heros using it on a dvd... Dvd's are also good to help. Lick library have a lot of good ones...

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Yes I'm teaching her. Turning the amp up bit is not a problem for me, and I already know the volume that will annoy my wife so sorted on that one!

great best of luck.
Be patient. It takes some time for them to learn and they have shorter attention span than most adults .
Try to make it fun and enjoy the time you are spending together...
