I had the 602 (1x12) and I thought they were ace.

If I ever see a used head on the cheap I'll snaffle it up to keep as a backup.

Can't answer your used £ question though. Try a completed auction search on shiteBay.

I bought one in 8 out of 10 condition a couple of months ago off ebay...he had it up for £340 BIN....I saw a bargain right away and offered £320 and he took it. Was a great amp...but wasted in the house so I put it on ebay on a 10p listing day...only half interested in selling it...put it up at £450 BIN and agreed with someone at £430. He came paid cash within 2hrs..and I made £110. Bought my Laney VC30 2x10 off Solar for £190 and sold my Vox AD30VT for £90...so in the end I effectively swapped my Vox for a VC30 and had £10 change.

Bottom line- It takes motor skills and practice to develop fast clean playing but a brain to use it wisely and rock guitarists are still recovering from the 80's.

they are not great amps and they are worth bugger all. Everyone tried to sell thiers as soon as the new marshalls came out but no one wants them becuase they want one of the new marshalls too. Unfortunately, no one wants to sell thier TSL for their current value so they can be hard to get.

They dont like it over on Harmony Central. It gets slated for reliability.

On the basis alone I have passed on it. I cant be doing with the hassle for something I dont really need.

I think the new Marshalls are way over rated, especially the JVM and JCM 2000 series, the cleans on them are alright, but i think the marshall distortion is very thin, if ya want a proper marshall tone i reckon you should go for one of the really old ones with a proper tone. imo
