Smile new type of record label anyone?

im getting some ideas on who would be interested in this.
signing to a new small dance music based record label where you:
still own all rights to your music.
you can leave at any time.
you get your music on: itunes usa, itunes canada, itunes australia and newzealand, itunes europe, itunes japan, napster, amazon mp3, lala, groupie tunes {mobile ringtones}, emusic and rhapsody.

what will it cost? a:nothing unless you withdraw your music as there is a cost assosiated with removing albums from the sites.

what is the split? 70/30 across the board in the artist favour.

of course i have already signed myself lol you can find me on the above sites by searching for jac 79.

anyhow if you have any interest in this then post below and i will check you out

Sounds like a very good deal to me!

What's the cost for removing albums from the site?

it works out to be around the £20 mark per album so unlike some of the major record label this isnt going to cost thousands if you decide it wasnt for you after all {or if you sign to a label}
ive decided to run this with an honesty policy so any one else has questions i will answer them.

Blimey, that's a rather good sounding deal!

Shame I don't do dance stuff really!

well i wouldnt truly rule out other genres but they would have to be worth taking on board, {gigging regulary, active myspace etc maybe youtube hits etc} the question is are they doing enough to warrant me putting my hand in my pocket to get them onto the download sites.
if they are promoting themselves like there is no tomorrow then i dont see a reason why i wouldnt take them on board.

I suppose if you're paying the initial outlay (what is it, BTW?), then you have to be reasonably confident that people are trying to sell their stuff and make you some money. Makes sense.

Sounds like a good deal from the artists point of view. Good luck with it.

That's quite a lot of time, effort and cash! People should be tearing your hand off any time soon

Does this exist yet?

Or is it something you're thinking of setting up?

Sounds good... this sort of thing could be the future. But then again, and I hope this doesn't sound rude, why do people have to do this through you(or anybody but themselves for that matter)? It's not a huge initial outlay of cash... especially not for a regularly gigging band/DJ.

In fact, looking around, CDBaby do this for a $35 initial outlay, and then split the profit 91/9 in favour of the artist.

PerhapsI just don't understand what you offering? :S
