Default rosewood or maple

fender strat, mapel or rosewood? i need some advise. played both but still ahhhhhh! dont wanna make the wrong choice.

maple for me, I likes the way it ages and shows the muck. Looks tre-cool IMO

Rosewood. Easier to look after, better feel and slightly warmer sound.

Maple for me. However, if I were rich and could have a guitar custom built I think it would have an ebony board.

Personally I prefer a nice dark rosewood, fed with a little oil. If its maple - its vital the finish is very thin. Gloopy maple necks are minging.

There is some difference in sound, but its minor, particularly if the rosewood is more of a veneer than a slab.

I prefer the look of realy dark rosewood, but having owned strats with both types of board, I have to say I've never noticed much difference in either the way they sounded or played. The feel of the back of the neck is far more important IMO...it must be satin, all the way. Gloss finish necks are just not nice.

yer i do like the look of mapel but im more in to sound quality than looks. i got an ibanez rg2550E witha rosewood neck. how can i keep it nice? is it lemon jucie? i use to use that fret fast stuff but dont really think much of it.
