Default Hey Jamieh!

I lust after one of these in sapphire blue (spelt wrong on your site btw :P) with an inhuman desire. I know you sell them, but I was wondering if you could give me your objective opinion of them?

If I visit my girlfriend in Cornwall once we've left uni at the end of this month then I'll be passing through Plymouth anyway so I might have an opportunity to visit your shop.

There are a couple of my guitars I'd be more than happy to sell to raise the funds and I'm tempted just to do that and order one online but I always prefer to try out guitars before I buy them. Only problem is that both of the shops local to my home in Rugby that did stock Fender have closed in the last week or so.

Those noiseless pickups are VERY bright and don't have a great deal of body-in my experience. I had a blonde version.
Definitely try before you buy; the rest of the guitar is really nice.

Well, we have a Honey Blond one in stock, second hand at a good price so if you're passing and could be persuade by the colour that might be of interest.

Or other wise, you can try the honey blond and we'll order you the blue....

I like them, I like the Ash bodies they feel nice and chunky and sustain nicely. The necks are very good too, there's something about the Classic Players Series that seems to be exceptional value for money, I think the necks on the CP 50s and 60s as per a thread a couple of weeks ago are slightly better even still than these, but these are definitely better than the Standard Series tend to be.

Pickups.... well I like them because they are noiseless, that's one of my biggest personal hatreds of Strats and Teles is the noisy pups... they are not quite as natural sounding though perhaps as standard single coils maybe not as 'edgy' as more traditional Strat pups, but they are good all the same and IMHO much better on gainy sounds...

Come down and try it though!!

Assuming that Fenders are quite flexible, maybe if you were to do a setup in the shop then I'd be confident that it'd play well. I'll have to have a think.

If I didn't get on with the pickups I'd probably swap them for a set of BKP Irish Tours.

I gigged one of these a couple of times and really liked it, the blue can be a bit hit or miss sometimes personally (its a little green occasionally) but the guitar felt and sounded really nice, still very stratty but no noise!
