Default CM 202 drum machine

Hi all, after a few years away from music (bloody kids!) I've got everything unpacked again and am getting up and running.
However I can't seem to find the old plug ins that came with Computer Music, particularly the drum machine (was it called SR202?) that had some ace cheesy presets.
Is it available anywhere as an adiounit, or other format suitable to a Mac G5 running Logic 6?

Or failing that can anyone point mee in the direction of a free/cheap cheesy drum machine?
Ta!

As it's gone a bit quiet in this thread I can only suggest heading over to http://www.kvraudio.com/ and having a search through their extensive plugin database. Sorry I can't be more help but the Mac thing is a mystery to me...

CM's SR202 has been on the cover disk of CM for many years and is still there. It isn't a UB, but then again with a G5 you won't need it. See here

Have voted.
Can't get the good old 202 to work at all, coming up as a VST fine but can't get it into Logic even on a Power PC Mac. Am I being thick?!?

I'm running a G4 and Logic 7.1, I think the problem might be that Logic now only supports Audio Units and not vsts (unless 'wrapped' with something like the fx-pansions' product). I think the same was true with Logic 6.

This is correct, Logic hasn't supported VST instruments since version 6. You can use the Fxpansion VST-AU adapter, but I can't offer any guarantees of compatibilty/stability with SR202 as that software has long since been discontinued.

If you get the latest issue of Computer Music magazine however you will find an Audio Unit called CMplay on the disk. This will play your SR202 drum kits.

Dave

Regarding the stability mainly is anyone aware of any way that you could possibly garauntee the stability or is Public Liability too hard because of the discontinuation??

Thanks in advance

There's a particular bug in the code that will cause SR202 to crash on >VST2.0 hosts.

The VST-AU adapter is pretty much a VST2.3 host so it *might* have the issue, the only way to find out is to give it a try or ask if anyone else has had success with this particular combination.

Kind regards
Dave
