OK people!
Rate every guitar you've every owned out of 5, as if you were reviewing for Total Guitar (or Guitarist, but without all the sub-categories). Since some of you have owned a million guitars, I'd suggest not rating more than ten guitars (or this thread will get monumentally boring). Rate your first ever guitar, and nine other memorable axes, I reckon. Me: Encore E76 -- 3.5/5 Yamaha RGX121D -- 4.5/5 Carvin DC125 -- 2/5 Ibanez SC420 -- 4/5 Gibson Les Paul Classic Plus -- 4.5/5 Ibanez RG505 -- 2/5 Yamaha RGX820Z -- 3/5 Fender American Stratocaster -- 5/5 Fender Classic 50s Strat -- 3/5, 5/5 after modifying PRS Corvette Standard 22 -- haven't owned it long enough to say, 4/5 so far. |

Guitars past and present:
Squier Tele Custom II (Stripped finish) 10/10 Superb, my current fave. Beautiful gnarly sound. Now looks amazing too. ![]() Fender Lite Ash tele 9/10 Super Tele Tones, Wonderful bridge pick-up Gibson LP Standard Plus: 5/10 Stunning visually but lacked tone from the 498/490 P/ups Epi LP Standard with SD '59's 8/10 Sounded better than the Gibbo! It didn't click at the time to put the '59's in the Gibbo D'oh! EBMM Petrucci: 8/10 didn't bond with it. Parker Nite-Fly M : 8/10 Too clinical a sound Ibanez RG550 6/10 Ten a penny, bland sound without distortion and effects Ibanez RG 575 (I think) 8/10 Better sound, must have been a good slab of basswood! PRS Tremonti SE: 9/10 Wonderful guitar, sorry too see that one go.

Cimar by Ibanez Fat strat copy - 3.5/5 - Great playing/quality beginner guitar, for £70 who could complain, still have it now.
ESP Viper Standard - 4.5/5 - The only thing that let this guitar down was the horrible camo finish, it got an extra .5 for being so cheap second hand because of the ugly finish. MIJ Fender Esquire 54 re-issue - 4.5/5 - Love it, just has the cheap jap electronics so it can't get the full 5/5. Epiphone LP Black Beauty 3 - 2.5/5 - Good guitar but weighed a tonne (even for an LP) and had 3 crappy epiphone pickups, it just never won me over. Squier Standard Tele (black/chrome edition) - 3.5/5 - Plays/feels great but suffered from the usual poor electronics/hardware that cheaper guitars do. After my mods I've done I give it a 4.5/5 loses .5 because of the price of the BKPs otherwise it'd be a 5. Epiphone Gothic Explorer w/ OFR - 4/5 - Great guitar that could get the perfect action, was upgraded when I got it with EMGs and the LFR swapped for an OFR. Sold it because I never use the trem and CBA with setting it up all the time. Vester MIK 'Tradition' Tele copy - 4.5/5 - for £95 this was probably the best guitar I've got yet, easily on par with MIM Fenders, if not better. Great hardware/electrics/body/neck. Awesome guitar for silly money. That'll do I guess. Its weird rating all the old guitars you've had and seeing which ones you wish you still had and which you're glad you don't have.
