I was at GASfest last year with Nick.Botfield and SuitYou, and we had a conversation that went something like this:
Nick: You should get a PRS Me: No way man! PRS can not rock. PRS are for people who come home from their hard day at work removing teeth or making personal injury claims, and play "Layla". I don't care how good they sound and how well they play, PRS do not rock. Nobody cool plays a PRS. PRS are played by Carlos Santana and rap metal guitarists with poorly fitting trousers. I may have also uttered the words "I will never own a PRS." As I write this, there is a PRS Corvette in its case on the floor next to me. It has Z06 inlayed on the fingerboard, and somehow it is managing to look cooler than the surf green Strat parked next to it. It is black, which is a boring colour. But, unplugged, it is the loudest solid guitar I've ever played, and it's set up with 9s. I am quite glad I didn't preface the sentence "I will never own a PRS" with the words "I bet you a hundred pounds." I don't own this guitar. It is on loan to me. But it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine. |

KILL IT!
Or at least use a bit of paper and a glass to pick it up and throw it out of the window.

PRS make good guitars. The one I owned was a lot better put together than a Gibson custom shop Les Paul I had. The Dragon pickups also sound amazing. (The HFS in the CU24 are awful though)

Once upon a time, I wanted a PRS. I went to the LGS last year to buy a PRS - or at least to narrow down the options. Then I came across some of the smaller UK builders, and decided that I wanted something with "soul" or "feel" or "individuality" some-other-such expensive trait.
So, I spent my PRS-money (and some more) on some wonderful guitars from those small UK builders. But I just can't shift the idea that deep, deep, way-deep down, I still want a PRS ... So, congratulations to you. Have you applied for the new job yet? |

Great stuff, I felt the same way. Never played one that felt alive, never thought I'd be in a position to buy one.
Suddenly both things happen at the same time. I have to wait to pick it up though. 39 days to my Custom 24.

You were terribly squiffy when you played mine at IGF but you seemed to like it! And GG62, yes, you do go on about them too much.
