Default Strat style fixed bridge to fit into existing gibson tunomatic body fixings

Does anyone know of a product similar to a Strat style fixed bridge ( or any other bridge that is no more then 5-10mm from the body to top of the saddle ) that will fit the existing body fixings of a standard Gibson tunomatic bridge ?

It is for a project I am doing and I need to get the strings at the bridge much closer to the body then the standard Gibbo bridge will allow.

Otherwise I would do one of these guitar courses. But the blood will flow if I am let near a dremel, let alone a router

Why not just discard the Gibson fittings and replace them with a Fender-type bridge? The only other bridge I can think of is the Schaller which fits against tune-o-matic posts. The product code is Steg/ sh c. This is a combination bridge/tailpiece and stands 1.5cm tall.

I am trying to avoid any modification of the body. The schaller is to high, the maximum I can go to is 1cm at the very most, other wise the action would to high. On a test setup the ideal distance from the body to top of the saddle was 8mm.

It won't fit in the gibson mounting holes but one of these should cover them up and is the right height for your needs

Is the guitar set-neck or bolt-on? If the latter then a shim in the neck pocket would solve neck/body angle problems giving you more wiggle room for the bridge.
