Default Behringer Pedals Yes or No?

Now I have heard everyone talking about them saying there good but I have never heard one of them myself. So I am wondering are they really as good as everyone says and If they were more expensive would they still be good for there price?

I also wondering of any where I can have a listen to any of the behringer pedals online? I will be making my way down to my nearest music shop to try and have a listen but I want to know whether its worth it or not.

cheers

D

Some are reputedly good, others are pretty dire ( the reverb and delay particularly so IIRC).

The cases are pretty flimsy on the cheap plastic ones, so don't bode well for continuous gigging use. Ok for home/studio I guess.

I had a couple in the past (tuner, EQ and preamp booster) and was using then for gigs. They do sound/mimic well the Boss pedals that they are clearly based on (EQ was a bit fizzy though) however, they all break after about 2 gigs! They'd be fine for home use as Boogieman suggests but don't bother sticking them close to a stage.

Behringer give warranties on their pedals probably for the reason that they know that based on the cost of their pedals, who's going to bother sending them back as it would cost you as much in time/postage as it would to go and buy the same pedal again. I always give Behringer a wide berth pedal wise and stick to boss and marshall pedals which are all built like tanks.

Search youtube, plenty of demos on there. There are some good pedals out there, the BD-2 clone is pretty good, so is the big muff clone. The Dyna Comp clone sounds pretty good too. I suspect their digital pedals will be the poorer sounding ones.
The cases are stronger than you woudl think, there is a video (by teh shortscale boys) showing how much abuse they can give one.
