Default Used market slowing down ?

I cannot speak for retail, but my experience of the used market tells me that guitars and amps are struggling to sell. I have had to lower the price dramatically to sell some guitars recently, at the same time I have picked up some absolute bargains ( so everything is relative for me ). I have also noticed a lot BIN auctions on ebay not secure a sale even though the asking price was pretty fair.

Has anyone else notice this or are we on a downturn ?

not sure, may be the fall in RRP in general has meant the prices 'we' are asking are seen as too high ?

I'm convinced some people are being more cautious with cash that isn't really 'spare'.

Even so, an amp I tried to flog to forumites here for £450 went for £626 when I got no takers and put it on Ebay. Which was nice.

eBay seems to have been a buyers market for a couple of months

I dunno !!! Everything guitar related that I've bid on, on eBay, has been won by a much, much higher bid.

The last of these were a Behringer V-amp 2 (I already have one but was bidding on a mint example starting at a low price), and a BC Rich Bronze Series Warlock with a chipped lower fin, also starting at a low price (which I wanted to knock about with). Both went for much, much higher that I anticipated.

I think that items around the £50-120 mark go quickly, but certain items, particularly medium priced guitars around £300-400, may struggle to sell.

It very much depends on the item. Same as secondhand cars really. Some are more difficult to shift than others.
