hi
I have recently required a wii remote. I have tried to get it to work with ableton live using wii to midi program on my mac. I am having issues with it. The remote connects but I can seem to get ableton live to work with it. I have had the button working on it once but i can't seem to do it again. Any one help? cheers dan |

Which midi to wii application are you using, and are you sure it's set up correctly? most of them use the IAC midi bus and you need to ensure that this is enabled in audio midi settings and that it is selected as the input for the channel in live.

Not really, all you are saying is that it doesn't work, which is of no help what so ever, I can't see it to tell you what you are doing wrong, you are going to have to give a better description, have you used a midi monitor to check if any midi information is being pumped round the system?

ok here goes. I start up wiitomidi to begin with. I have setup the driver which is the internal one already with my mac. I then active the remote by press 1+2. It connect to wiitomidi and i can change the various setting on it. I keep them on default so midi channel 1, learning mode off, smoothing 4 and sensitivity on 1. I then load up my application (ableton live) and start a new project. I then add a midi track to try and test whether any signal is coming in. There is none. I have looked at the midi option in ableton but everything looks fine. internal midi selected and on. I have tested the midi track works with the midi keyboard and it does. I have also used the typing keyboard to test out the midi and it does.
I am a bit lost. Can you help? is it better that i use another program for my wii remote? |

Try this: http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ and see if there is any midi information floating around your system - try all the sources etc. if there is no midi information floating around the system, then wiitomidi is not outputting any, if there is, then it could be that the IAC bus is not transferring it (have you enabled it in audio midi setup?) of ableton is not receiving it, the reasons for that could be that it's not confgured properly, or well, thats kind of it.
I'd guess wiitomidi is not working fully, have you followed the help files start to finish? http://mike.verdone.ca/wiitomidi/Wii...tml/intro.html |
