Hi
I am currently using the following spec. Athlon 3000+ with 1gig memory to run Sonar 7. Would I see much difference in performance if I upgraded to duel core Athlon 4800? Appreciate your advice. |

What OS you using?
First thing I'd do is get more RAM. K |

Ayup.
And rather than swap to another Athlon you might as well take the plunge and go Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad - Intel seem to have a huge performance margin at the mo.

I'd check to see if you need to flash the BIOS as well with a jump from single 3000 to dual core 4800. Plus the 3000 may be socket 939 and the 4800 AM2.
Another Gig of RAM might make more difference than you'd imagine. |
