I am about to GAS a new Les Paul and SG tomorrow, so one last chance if anyone is selling a decent example.
I dont do eBay, to much hassle. But will buy from a forum member if its near enough for me to view and do the deal. |

I remember your one but didnt have the cash back then , I have since sold half a dozen of mine. I stear clear of any signature models. I just dont feel right gigging with them, its like I am saying " I love this player, he is my everything, my rock, my bum friend and lover, I lick his anal crease just to be with him ", the only signature I like on them is Gibson or Fender. Unless I have an Ego moment and I sign it myself ![]() |

Les Paul and Leo Fender are designers of a brand, not a player to worship. ( aka Ford Mondeo , not Ford the racing driver ). I am an individual ( a bit like one of those apple pies in a Mr Kiplin box ) , I like to think I have my own style, rather then copy to the point that I have to have Steve Vai's name tattooed on my arse just because he is a talented player. I have stood in the audiance of many a gig to hear the <cough = wanker> snort due to someone with no sense of irony sporting a Eric Clapton signature strat just because he also wanted to be an avid drug user in his younger days. I prefer to see young John Smith playing his knackered £30 copy, by putting his heart into it. One day John may grow up and have his own strat named after him. But the next future John Smith wont be playing it ![]() |

Hi there,
Each to their own I suppose ![]() I have no wish to lick mr T's anal gland, I just wanted a decent SG special and happened across the one I now have for sale. I don't normally bother with Signature items either so I do get where you are coming from. Good luck with the search for an LP and SG. I've got a 2002 SG Standard and modded 2004 Gibson LP Classic for sale too if you are interested (Classic has Bareknuckle p/ups, Grovers and a Tonepros bridge). All the best Hugh

yup, gibby LPs were originally a SIGNATURE guitar, the rest just followed because it was easier marketing to have an LP jr/special/sg/custom/classic/bfg etc etc and because orginally gibson werent even sure they wnated their own name on a solidbody electric.
