Default wii remote

hi

I have heard that the wii remote attach to the computer? and can be used to play drums and instruments. Does this mean that you don't need the entire wii console to play the drums with you computer? and could the wii remote be used to control other things like vst or controllers.

cheers

I heard something about this recently but I don't recall where. I did recently see a video on YouTube where some guy had set-up a Wii Remote to control the Half Life 2 PC game. Except this dood was running it on a Mac Book (for that added 'look what I can do' geekiness ). In any case that set-up was using only the Wii Remote via bluetooth & something called 'Glove pie'.

The other thing I am wondering is whether you can use the Mac remote as a MIDI controller. I have seen a program that has this built in ability so it must be possible.
