Did you buy it? I've got one, boxed as new if you want to save some cash.

RTFM = Read The F'ing Manual

Which might be a good idea with the E-MU... The E-MU interfaces come with the PatchMix DSP software which is basically a software router/mixer. You can route 32 (16 Stereo) ASIO channels through it as opposed to the bog standard stereo pair routed to your output. It's great. You can have loads of apps open at the same time and they can be routed to different channels. You can even route programs to each other if you want to. It's very versatile, but you do have to know what you're doing... So yeah, RTFM!

I have the E-MU 1820m, 1616m and I have a Carillon PC ordered with the 0404 in it. IMO, I think E-MU make the best thought out audio interfaces for PCs.

Aaah, I see, I totally agree too... I've not had it long enough to delve into that side of it but I'll be reading up for sure.

patch mix is the whole reason for me to go emu because it allows me to record the audio from vsts directly rather than bouncing down which you cant do in sonar at the moment

Can you not just solo and export the relevant track?
