While the idea of effects that utilise the power of video cards’ accelerators is nothing new, there have been precious few examples of this thus far.
Things seem to be picking up a bit, however – check out Nils Schneider’s post on KVR to find out about his amazing Nvidia-powered PC VST convolution reverb effect. The software is still very much in its early stages, and you’ll need a GeForce 8 series or later NVidia graphics adapter with the latest ForceWare drivers to run it, but just think of the possibilities!
